Fruit of the Spirit
Throughout this teaching series we will be taking an in depth look at the Fruit of the Spirit as identified in Galatians 5. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23). These are the fruits that all Christians should be producing in their lives. There can be nothing more important in our world today than the fruit of the Spirit. We desperately need God - His love, His joy, His peace. We need Him in our lives producing the fruit of the Spirit.

“A fruitless person is not a failed Christian, but false one - in other words, not a Christian at all” (Charles H. Spurgeon). If we are truly born again, the weeds of the flesh will wither and die, and the fruit of the Holy Spirit will flourish and remain.
How To Study The Bible
Sunday, June 8 & 15
Dusty Bibles lead to dirty lives. In fact, you are either in the Word and the Word is forming Jesus Christ in you, or you are in the world and the world is squeezing you into its mold.
As a Christian, you should study the Bible. But when you sit down to study do you get discouraged and give up. It is frustrating to try and fail because you don’t know how to study the Bible. We will teach you practical principles on how to study the Bible AND walk you through the steps.

Story Overview of the Bible
Sunday, June 1
What is the one, uniting theme of the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible may be divided into two testaments, but that doesn’t mean they are not related. “The New Testament is in the Old Testament concealed. The Old Testament is in the New Testament revealed.”
The central person of the whole Bible is Jesus Christ. He is the One the Old Testament talks about, without directly saying his name. He is concealed as the Promised One, the Anointed One, the Messiah, the Deliverer, the Saviour.
Jesus said his death, burial and resurrection must happen to fulfill Scripture. He went on to say this was such good news that it would be told everywhere. Exactly why did Jesus come to earth, and why did he have to suffer and die when all along he planned to come back to life? Why did he not simply tell people to believe in him and skip the entire crucifixion? What was this death, burial and resurrection all about?

Authority & Reliability of the Bible
Sunday, May 25
Are the words on the pages of the Bible the words of God or opinions of men? Second Timothy 3:16 says, “Every scripture is inspired by God.” The word “inspired” means “God-breathed – filled with the breath of God.” Just as when one exhales his breath, and that breath comes from his innermost being, so ultimately all scripture is to be viewed as the very product of God himself. God and His Word are inseparable, which is one reason the Bible is often referred to as God’s Word.
What is your final authority in life? In life there will be many questions and many challenges. Where do you turn to find guidance for moral issues, or truth for ethical standards, or stability for emotions? There is no more reliable authority on earth than God’s Word. God’s Word will give you everything that you need to fulfill everything that God will call you to do.

History of the English Bible
Sunday, May 18
Why is it that so many people today neglect God’s Word? It is because so many people today don’t understand what it really is and what it took for you to hold God’s Word in your hands. Today we are going to study the history of the English Bible. It’s a fascinating history and a bloody history. It is high drama – a story that is as much political as it is personal, as much literary as it is religious.
No literary work has had so much influence on the English language as the translation of the Bible. Yet, the cost for providing the English speaking people with a Bible must be counted in the blood of the men who sought to translate it.

Investigating The Bible
Throughout this teaching series, we are going to examine the living Word of God. Why is this so important? The Bible is essential to our faith. Not just theoretically, but practically. Not just through preaching and teaching, but through one’s own personal reading and study. Since the Bible is God’s revelation of himself to us, we cannot know him without knowing it.
Each Christian has the privilege and the responsibility to know God and his revealed will in the Bible. Sadly, so many people today simply do not understand God’s Word.
